With all photographs,
a little care taken in preserving your photographs will give
them a long life. All colour dyes change over time, but the few
simple precautions outlined below will keep the photographs in
good condition longer.
CARE OF PRINTS
Storing your photographs in photo albums protects them from both airborne contaminants and light assuring them the longest life. I recommend using acid-free, archival sleeves that are commonly available from camera shops and other retailers. Follow the points below to maximise the pleasure your photographs will bring you for a long time.
- Avoid handling photographs.
If unavoidable - handle by the edges only.
- Store your photographs
away from extreme temperatures, high humidity, and bright lights
- Don't display or store
your photographs outdoors.
- Don't store your photographs
where they are exposed to chemicals.
- Keep your unprotected
photographs away from sources of ozone, such as computer monitors
and TV's, air cleaners or other sources of high voltage electricity.
- When framing your photo,
avoid doing so when humidity is high, as condensation may form
behind the glass. Store your print in a photo album or plastic
sleeve until the humidity drops.
COPYRIGHT & REPRINTS
All prints are copyright and may not be reproduced by any means. Even if you are in the photo it does not give you the automatic right to reproduce professional prints. If you do require to reproduce photos for any reason, please let me know and I will quote you for the full size files with full release.
I keep copies of all
the negatives and electronic files in an archival system, unless
specifically requested otherwise. This allows you to reorder
prints in future if required. I pride myself on providing personalised
service at a competitive price. If there is something that I
can improve, please let me know.
